The increased crackdown on Hurriyat leaders and activists in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces and investigative agencies to quell the ongoing fight for the right to self-determination has been denounced by the Hurriyat conference, which is open to all parties.
Concern over India’s ongoing abuses of political, social, and religious rights in the area was another issue raised by the Hurriyat leaders.
They voiced fear that Kashmir’s distinct identity and culture are in danger due to the demographic shifts being manipulated by the Indian government since August 5, 2019, under the tenets of Hindutva.
The leaders urged the world community to settle the conflict in Kashmir in line with UN resolutions so that future generations in the South Asian region can live in peace and dignity.
