Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, urged his team to maintain their positive attitude as they embark on their Twenty20 World Cup journey following a disappointing sequence of results.
Previous two editions of the competition have seen Pakistan, the 2009 T20 World Cup champions, perform well; they lost to England in the final in 2022 but advanced to the semi-finals in 2021.
But their build-up to the tournament this year in the United States and the West Indies has not been pretty, starting with a sobering series loss to Ireland in which they ultimately prevailed 2-1, and then a rain-affected series loss to England in which they lost 2-0.
“We control the effort, but we don’t know the results,” Babar stated in a Sunday podcast episode from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
It will be important how we carry ourselves, interact with one another, and display ourselves on the ground. Results will follow if we have a good attitude. Given that this is our first trip there as a national team, the conditions in the USA could provide difficulties.”
“We are in the process of collating various cricket and match-related information from players who have played there, which can help and assist us in our preparations.”
Beginning their World Cup campaign on June 6, Pakistan will play the United States, the hosts. Three days later, they’ll play one of the most eagerly awaited matches in the tournament against intense rivals India.

In their seven T20 World Cup matches, Pakistan has only triumphed once over India.
“An India-Pakistan match is always the most talked about; it is discussed too much wherever you go in the world,” Ba bar stated.
The exhilaration and moods that the gamers experience vary.” Everything will be focused on the match as everyone will be rooting for their country. The day of the India-Pakistan match is the focus of attention for everyone on earth.
Nerves are inevitable, but we must remain composed, adhere to the fundamentals, and play simple cricket. Everything is always under strain; things get easier the more you maintain your composure, have faith in your abilities, and work hard.”
