Prime Minister Condemns Israel’s Actions: Prime Minister and Foreign Office Denounce Israeli Prohibition on UNRWA

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has vehemently denounced Israel’s activities intended to hinder UNRWA’s work within the Gaza Strip.

The Prime Minister stated in a post on X that Israel is committing yet another flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter, for which the international community must hold it responsible, by blocking vital relief aid from reaching millions of defenceless Palestinians.

The Foreign Office said in a statement today that Pakistan once again calls for an unconditional and quick ceasefire in Gaza and the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to lessen the suffering of the Gaza population.

The latest Israeli attempt to shut down the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees’ activities in the Middle East is categorically condemned by Pakistan, the statement stated.

It claimed that this most recent action represents yet another transgression of the UN Charter and international law by Israel. Israel’s deliberate effort to prevent the Palestinian people from receiving much-needed humanitarian relief is demonstrated by its failure to allow UNRWA to perform its essential duties.

According to the pertinent UN General Assembly Resolution 302 (IV) of 1949, the Foreign Office urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to hold Israel responsible for its acts and guarantee UNRWA’s uninterrupted functioning.
