Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the prime minister, meets with a delegation from Howard Business School.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif greeted a delegation of Howard Business School students visiting Pakistan, representing nine different countries.

Speaking on important matters of governance and the economy, the prime minister emphasized the continuous reforms meant to improve institutional effectiveness and digitize the economy.

He emphasized initiatives to stabilize the economy and broaden the tax base—most notably, the digitization of the federal board of revenue—in order to address economic difficulties.

Sharif talked on the steps the government is doing to help businesses expand, including as forming the Special Investment Facilitation Council, reducing the size of federal institutions, and encouraging growth driven by exports.

Furthermore, he emphasized Pakistan’s abundant natural resources, including Thar coal, and its intentions to grow the precious stone sector.

In addition to announcing planned agricultural training programs for Pakistani students in China, the prime minister said that IT exports had crossed the $3.2 billion mark.

He highlighted the value of youth training and announced plans to provide telecom education and training to 200,000 students annually through a partnership with Huawei.

He also discussed the establishment of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund and the extension of Danish schools.
