According to the notification, the BRT Peshawar Service would be temporarily halted due to security concerns.

The observance of Ashura in Pakistan is scheduled for July 17th, which falls on a Wednesday. The provincial administration of Sindh has implemented a prohibition on pillion riding throughout the 10-day period of Muharram.

Ashura is commemorated on the 10th day of Muharram, the initial month of the Islamic calendar, to honor the significant sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions during the Battle of Karbala.

Prior to this, the federal government authorized the mobilization of military personnel throughout to guarantee security throughout the month of Muharram.

The decision to deploy military forces to control the law and order situation has been made in response to requests from the authorities in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Article 245 of the Constitution, the Center has been granted the power to sanction the deployment of army troops and civil armed forces troops to maintain peace.
